The David Whiteman Band is so excited to roll out our latest single, a satire piece entitled “Soft Clothes.” This one came straight from a real-life moment that still cracks me up every time I think about it. It all started on a regular evening when I called up one of my buddies to see if he wanted to join us for dinner and a few drinks. You know, nothing fancy, just a good time out with friends. But he hit me with the line of the century:

“Man, I can’t go. I already put on my soft clothes.” I had to laugh. Soft clothes? Pajama pants, footies, house shoes, that sacred outfit you put on when the world no longer exists and the couch becomes your kingdom. I couldn’t shake it. The phrase “soft clothes” just stuck in my head all night. Before long, the musician in me took over, and what started as a funny moment between friends turned into a song.

“Soft Clothes” is a satire, but it’s also a mood. It’s for everyone who’s ever been too cozy to leave the house, too content to trade comfort for crowds.
